A Visit To The Dome Of The Rock And The Church Of The Holy Sepulchre

Jerusalem is home to some of the holiest sites for Jews, Christians and Muslims. It's sort of the auto mall of significant shrines.

For Muslims, few places can beat a visit to the Dome of the Rock. Everyone knows the lovely gold dome, shining like a beacon from the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. The place has lasted, completed in 691 AD.

The tile work is amazing, a Persian birthday cake. Them's the rules - no kissing!

Only a few blocks away is a holy site revered by Christians, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Word in the pew is Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected at the location of the church. And a handful of stations of the cross are also within the church's footprint. They've cornered the market on Holy.

The church, crammed into Jerusalem's Old City.

Both religions love their domes. On the left, from the out building at the Dome of the Rock. On the right, inside the church.

"Can we talk?" The empty tomb of Jesus, the spot of his resurrection.
